MANTECA, Calif. – Eighty years ago, Antone Raymus dreamt big and began building homes in Manteca. He wasn’t just constructing houses; he was building futures. Antone believed that a home should be more than four walls and a roof - it should be the foundation for a family’s dreams and the heart of a community.
That vision of building community guided everything Antone did. He poured the same care he put into his neighborhoods into uplifting the Manteca itself. He helped found Give Every Child a Chance, providing mentorship and tutoring for local youth, and HOPE Family Shelters, offering compassion and stability for families in crisis. Just as his homes gave families a place to thrive, these organizations gave his hometown the chance to grow stronger together - and they remain lifelines in Manteca today.
Eight decades later, Antone’s children, Toni and Bob Raymus, carry that mission forward. Like their father, they don’t just build superior-quality homes - they invest in the town they love. Toni launched the Great Valley Bookfest to celebrate and promote literacy while Bob started the Thomas Toy Community Center to provide a safe place for teens to connect and grow. Together, they’ve built on their father’s legacy, blending craftsmanship with a commitment to service and community.
Over the years, Raymus Homes has designed 100 neighborhoods and built nearly 6,000 homes, crafting residences for more than 18,000 people who put their trust in a Raymus-built home. But the measure of their work has never been just numbers. It’s the milestones celebrated in living rooms, the friendships formed across front porches, and the sense of belonging that grows stronger with each new neighbor.
“Our mission has always been about more than just building houses. It’s about building Manteca,” said Toni Raymus. “This is where we live, where we’ve raised our families, and where we’re committed to creating spaces that make life better for everyone who calls Manteca home.”
As Raymus Homes celebrates this milestone, the message is clear: the company’s story has always been about more than construction. It’s about carrying forward a promise - to build superior-quality homes, to nurture their hometown with heart, and to ensure Manteca remains a place where generations can thrive.
