Custom Feature Ideas for the Fontana Plan

- 3-11-2015

Your Home. Your Way.

We spend hours…scratch that…days and weeks developing each of our home plans. We argue over windows, layouts, flow, and space. We envision how each one of our homebuyers will live in their new home.

However, when one of our buyers gets a genius idea – an “ah-ha” moment of sorts – about how they would like something in their home, we get excited. Nothing is more dynamic than working with the homebuyer to craft their home exactly the way they want it.

In our Raceway Collection neighborhood, we’ve been blessed with an abundance of creative, thoughtful, energetic homebuyers who are passionate about every aspect of the homebuilding process. This week I’d like to share with the story of a homebuyer who purchased the Fontana home, a 1683 sq. ft. / 3 Bedroom / 2 Bath home.

The down-to-earth attitude of this homebuyer showed in his color selections. As you can see from the photos, this buyer chose to paint his walls an inviting green, avocado color, accenting it with dark brown crown molding.

Using art niches we build into that home standard, he requested we delicately place stacked store to further blur the indoor/outdoor dichotomy. He also created a bold entry by adding stone to the entrance pilasters.

Desiring a sink near the back door, this homebuyer requested we transform the counter space of the Drop Zone and add a deep sink.

Utilizing the flex space in the Great Room, this homebuyer chose to create a home office by adding walls and French doors but also leaving a“window” facing out towards the living space. He further elevated the feel of the room with built-in office cabinetry and USB charging outlets.

The cherry on top of it all? A corner fireplace! I see many warm, cozy memories by the fire in his future. Such a classy touch in the main entertaining space of the home.

No matter how hard we try, we can’t think of everything. Some of our best ideas have come from talking to homebuyers and hearing what they like and how they plan to use their home. Have any awesome ideas? Comment below or stop by and visit us over at the Raceway Collection at Oleander Estates!
